blood drive and lego day
Lego Day
Before the big story of the blood drive that will be hosted by Olathe Northwest on a friday I wanted to learn some converge journalism. Olathe Northwest was also hosting a lego day on that monday so i founds a student that was willing to be filmed while he was building his lego set. My goal for this is to make a story about him building his lego set.
The process I had for this interview is to find a person who would be willing to be filmed and then start filming him building his lego set then edit all of the shots together into a video about slew's experience on lego day.
Some thing I learned alone the way as I was filming is to take longer shots so you have more video to pick from when editing the shot together and you will have a better chance at filming something that will be an action shot (a shot that the subject does that probably wouldn't be repeated.
Something I would change is the questions that I asked. I wish the question were more in depth so the person i was following could answer the question better but he answered them to the best extant he could.
I would keep the person i choose for lego day because he answered the question I asked to the furthest extant he could which relayed helped me make the video because I didn't have to more narration to introduce what he going to say.
The thing that I will draw from this to enhance my next project is to actually stand in the filming position so the camera doesn't shake and this will cause the shot quality to go up and increase.
Blood drive
Some people asked me what the process is when I film something like this so I will tell you my process for this kind of project would be to get the necessary equitment and find some one who would be will to be filmed throughout the process of giving blood. then after I filmed my chosen person edited all the film together.
I was asked what I learned from this film and the only think I could think of is to ask the person that i was following more in depth question about the blood drive and ask more question in-general. Another thing is to make sure that I brought all my equipment so I would have to go back to the room and get.
Something I would do different is to take a bigger variety of shot like a pan of the area they were taking blood or blood being taken so when I was editing I could put more of the scene in the film.
Some things that I would keep is the shots that I did take because the shot I took were really good shots and they were really interring.
Some I will use in my next project is how I was standing to take the shot because there was less shake and good quality.

2-D animation movie
The process that I took in this project was to create and design a character, this designing process starts with just drawing any character you can think of then combined ideas that I like and make a final character. then we had to storyboard an idea for a story that the character will act out, I think the story boarding process takes the longed because I had to make the story and then i had to draw out each scene individually. next was the animaeing where I colored my character then made the background and any other building or object and put them all in the same project. then I crafted all the items in to the story I wanted. after I finished my animation put on this site and wrote about it.
Something I learn while making this project is to always make sure you know what layer you are on because you can go though a lot of steps that bring you closer to finishing your project then realizing that it was on the wrong layer so it would screw up your whole video so you have to start over.
I used two programs to make this project one was after effects where i made the film and made all the parts move and i made all the characters and scenes in photoshop. after effects use these thing cause key frames and those are what make everything move.
I made this project by my self but I got a lot of opinions from other people on how or what i should do to my project to make it better.
something I would change if I could is the close up I didn't plan out the close up in my video so it turn out a little weird but it looks ok.
somethings i would do the same it the character design.
somethings that i with take from this video is to plan out every little detail in the video so when the due date is coming you know what you still have to do.

music video
we got the idea of doing the rocky video then our teacher suggested to make the video about studying for a test instead if working out so thats what we did.
My process for this music video was to pick a song that me and my group liked and then we had to create a story to go along with the song we picked. we created this story by going scene by scene planning out what we were going to do in that scene and what shot it was going to be. Then we got a camera and went though out the school and filmed our music video. After we are done filming we download all the shots to a computer, then we edit the clips in to thew music video.
Somethings i leaned while filming this music video is to always know where the tripod is in the shot so it docent get in the way or can be seen in the shot.
Something i wanted to do different is change to more locations in the school then two rooms and the hallways.
Some things i would keep the same is the shots were the the two character are having a stare down before they race to the board, another shot that i like was when the main character was run we followed him with the camera.
The experiences that I got from this project how to follow a running character with the camera and how to make a story to go allow with a song.
I like this project because it was fun to film and very interest.

Plausible Impossible
This is plausible because Mickey can see his self in a mirror but impossible becasue Mickey can't walk though a mirror in real life.
This shot is plausible because a Mickey can jump rope in real life but this is impossible because Mickey is jumping rope with a phone.
This shot is plausible because a person can turn the volume up on the junk boxes but it is impossible because the junk box can turn its own volume up.
This shot is Plausible because Mickey can walk and carry cards but impossible because the cards can't move on their own.

This shot is Plausible because the cards can be blown
away by a fan but this is impossible because the images on the cards can't be blown off the card.

Chase scene
The main socpe of this video was to make it a chase scene or an A to B scene where the character goes from one place to another.
The process in which I Made this video was stating to pitch ideas to my partner when we found an idea that we liked we started to story board which is planning out very shot in the video. After we finished story boarding we got a camera and started filming each shot once or twice to make sure we got the shot perfect then we wen to our computer and edited the videos the we wanted. I edited my video then I put music and translations into some shots.
Some thing I learned when I was filming was not to film a close up shot in front of a reflecting surface because when you watch that clip you can see the tripod or the person filming in the window or reflective surface.
something I would do different for my next video is have a more funny or a more elaborate video. I would also try to finish my filming in first day so I have more time to take a clip that i missed or want to add.
Something that I would keep the same is the music type, the changing scene effects and the close ups.
some experience that I will got from this project is how to film in an area with a lot of people and noise from those people also how to think a head in order to plan out the shot angles ( Cu, wide, medium)
Some general thoughts I had was that this project was very fun and a great leaning experience.

character walking, screen shot, original drawing and revised version
My character is a knight. I designed my character this way because it was a lot easier to draw and to me it looks like a knight. my thought behind my character was trying to make it look like a knight and to make a cool character.
Yes i ran into problems when designing my character. one problem was i could think of an idea for an hour or so and i also left the arms and legs attached to my character body which was hard to fix in photoshop. Yes i had problems with the keyframes my problem was trying to get them to be close enough together to look like the character was naturally walking and make it not look like a robot. When i was creating the keyframes i had three keyframes in a clump and this equals one step for one of the feet then the other leg would have three keyframes and it would just keep alternating until my character walked off the screen.

throwing paper away
sequencing is important in a video because it will tell the story and it keeps the viewing audience interested in the film.

inchworm
I learned how to use the pin tool to warp the subject to look like its moving. I also learned how to use the parent feature which makes a object follow whatever you made it's parent at the exact speed and motions.

bouncing ball
I liked how the animation came together in the end also making the ball squash and smash was cool to. the way you were teaching us this project was very easy to follow allow to and was a fun project. something about this project i didn't like was the way you made the ball bounce with those keyframes

six shot system
I learned to mix up the shot views (close up, wide shot, eta) in a video so the viewer stays interest in whatever topic you are showing. I also learned to take multiple shots of one clip so you can pick and choose between them just in case on one of the clips has bad lighting or some other problem.
I will used a lot more shots (close up, wide shot, eta) in my next video in order to create a smoother looking movie. i will also shoot more clips so i can choose from them. I will make sure to be at the front of the line when getting equipment so i get a tripod.
